I purchased Nero 7 at BestBuy. Brought it home and installed. It appeared to install then said it would have to restart. my pc re-started but Nero didnt finish. Both of my disk drives "disappeared". I try to fix with the device manager but The error message I receive is : "Windows cannot load this device driver for this hardware. The device may be corrupted or missing. (code 39)". I tried the update on their site, same problem. To make the PC work I use system restore and install V6. Any suggestion? Nero hasn't answered my request.
Try updating your ASPI drivers, found here. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm seems to bring back lost drives. Also try updating your version of Nero 7.0, your serial number will work with the downloaded "Demo" version of the program which is now version 7.0.1.2 This also might help you out.
The clue about Adaptec/aspi files and their installation seems to have cured the problem. I did download the latest 7.0.1.2 which did not help. then installed the aspi files and the problem disappeared. Thanks for the help.
Nero 7 certainly seems to have issues. I had to download the demo to correct a major crash issue with the version installed by the CD. Secondly, I was working previously with just Nero Soundtrax 6 that came with an ADS Instant Music device designed to dub LPs or line-level audio to CD. This Nero 6 had a digital monitor checkbox on the LD-CD Wizard so you could listen to your songs in real time. This was a very handy feature, since there is a delay in the digital audio over what is heard in the PC. Anyhow... Nero 7 does not seem to have this digital monitor checkbox. Anyone know a workaround? Thanks! Cephus
