Covnvert vobs to mpg with DVD Decrypter?

I bought a DVD recorder (Liteon 5045) so I can copy my home vhs tapes to didital. The dvd recorder records to disc in the vob format. I want to convert the vob files to mpgs so I can edit them. I read that DVD Decrypter converts vobs but can't see how this is done.

 

Once you run the disk through DVD Decrypter, all you have to do is rename the .vob to .mpg and that's it.

If that doesn't work, there's plenty of software out there that will do the job. I use ImTOO DVD Ripper. http://www.imtoo.com

 

Hi,

Due to CRC errors, I use the DVD decryptor to analyze the disk. Everything is fine with the analyze. Then I use the DVD shrink software to burn the files. When open files using DVD Shrink, it give error complaining that file VIDEO_TS.IFO file does not exist. The same goes when using DVD Encryptor to burn. Any comments?

Reset DVDDecryptor back to defaults. TOOLS-->SETTINGS-->DEFAULTS

I do this all the time with my Pioneer 810-HS. I use a DVD-RW and then use my computer and Ulead`s DVD Movie Factory 4. It`s pretty simple and easy to do. From their website :

Another way to edit discs from your DVR is with DVD Shrink. If there is a clip or part of a TV show that I want. I take the DVD-RW up to my computer and take the 2 or 5 minute segment out with DVD Shrink, and save them to a folder. You can then use shrink to take all of your clips and reassemble them, plus Shrink is free. Depending on what you want to edit and how , it could do the job for you.[It will NOT create menus] I do not think you have to convert them to mpegs first. I do not do it that way!
