Look, i know its against the rules to repeat a thread, but my cause is very unique, i have read the other threads in full and they haven't helped. my situation hardware wise is this:

I have a Cat 6 crossover cable. I have a USB to ethernet port that makes my USB port another ethernet port.

my usb-ethernet port doesn't support the crossover cable... I cant connect it to that and get online. However, my standard ethernet port that came with my laptop does support the crossover. I am pretty sure from what I read that i can connect my crossover cable to the standard ethernet port, then to my xbox... while connecting my ethernet cord to the USB port and to my cable modem. is that true?

also, currently my local area connections 1 and 2 (1 is the crossover cable to the xbox, 2 is the cable modem to the USB port) are in a network sharing mode, like the thing some business have. I need to know how to disable this sharing mode before it allows me to bridge connections.

    :(

wow, can't believe i spent 50 bucks for nothing. well, looking that way. anyone who can help will be greatly appreciated. Cant do much, but I'd bridge for you if you needed or help you level up. or it'd also be nice if someone helped out of the goodness of their heart. thanks

I solved one problem: I figured out how to disable the network sharing, finally. But i now have one additional problem:

Before I bridge connections, my internet on my laptop works fine. After the connections are bridged my laptops internet cuts off, and I can't sign on xbox live. damn this is confusing
