disc colors?

    I am curious as to why the recordable side of most prerecorded dvds are silver in color while the blank dvd discs that I purchase tend to be an off blue color

    Because the DVD Movies you buy are pressed, and the ones you use to burn have dye on them which is usually purple or blue in color depending on what it is.
