Im following one of the guides on here that someone told me about. I had no problem making backup copies of other movies but with Mr mrs smith, I get this error when in the encoding process, it stops at 49% and says dvd shrink encoutered a error and cannot continue failed to read file c:/ mr mrs smith_ws_ /video _ts/vts_07_4.vob
data error (cycle redundancy check). So could someone help me out, thanks

at what percent useing anydvd do you get this error?

even brand new discs can be knackered and yes they can PLAY ok still but not rip

CRC for the most part is cant read disc due to damage etc

vick7288 ,you have a scrathed disc try another one and you should be fine ,as rotary it doesnt take much to get thoughs errors with clonedvd2

one other thing you could try is use Intervideo DVD Copy 4, it will read disc that are scrathed etc. ,theres a free trial so give it a shot if you still have the same dvd ,you will still need to run anydvd in the background with this program, heres the link

If possible try a different disc.

Another thought is to Download DVDFab decrypter and use it to rip the files to the hd. Sometimes DVDFab is able to read through tough to read discs better than other programs. DVDFab is free and simple to use. You can get it at this site.
Once it is ripped to the HD you can use CloneDVD2 or DVDShrink to finish the movie.

    Cheers.

I was able to do this one this weekend with Dvdfab express (I believe version 2.9.6.0) then dvd shrink to reauther and burn with decrypter. No real problems.
