Converting recording from EP mode to SP

I have a Toshiba DVR3 and have recorded a series of tv programmes onto a DVD-RW using Extended Play and VR mode (allowing up to 6 hours per disc).
I would like to share some of those programmes via a DVD in finalised Standard Play mode that will play on a standalone DVD player.
Is it possible to use a software program to convert the EP recording via my PC and DVD Rewriter? DVD Decrypter (ISO) thinks the recorded DVD is blank.

The only ways I can think of achieving it are:
    1) through a digitiser connected via phonos to the Toshiba and via USB to my PC.
    2) by transferring from DVD to VCR and then back to DVD -causing further degradation!

Obviously either of these options would have to be in real time.

    Any ideas gratefully received

If you have Nero ... it's easy

Just click on 'SmartStart' .. then in the 'Phito and Video' section choose 'Make or Modify DVD Viseo (VR)' .. then follow along ...

You can even copy unfpnalized DVD+R or -R discs with Nero

Thanks for that. I've now tried Nero (Nerovision express 3) and get as far as creating project consisting of 2 titles and a playlist.
I eject the original DVD-RW and insert a blank DVD-RW; then click Burn and I get an error message Burn Process Failed. I've tried different discs but still the same error.
I've tried the Nero User Manual but I can't see what I'm doing wrong!

Any help would be appreciated - even if it turns out I'm being a little dumb!
