i'm losing dvds wkly.i'll also post this in the forum. thinking on slowing burner dn or just buying a better burner. tnx in advance

    What are they doing?

Do you set your target size so that you don't burn too close to the edge of the media?

    Burn at 4x?

hi..let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

ps you posted your entire Nero log. no biggie, your serial number was therefore dotted thru the log, so i just edited and left the last section of log in the post...

    - i used this version for ages without issue whatsoever. You could update if you wanted to, to latest 6.x version, which is 6.6.0.18. if so, download "update package 1" from here - http://ww2.nero.com/enu/nero-up.php

    - your burner's firmware is 3 versions behind, BS0S is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1934

    - this is ok but one of your logfiles showed only 55MB free. you need to ensure sufficient free memory prior to all dvd work/burning

    - that's a touch closer to the outer edge of discs than i'd burn too, myself. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in DVD Shrink's preferences, this will ensure you don't burn too close to outer edge of all future discs

    - the Ritek media should be ok..

    - seems ok..try 4x and see how that goes...

    - the ATAPI drivers have question marks in the version number. reload the drivers via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

Your nero is old, update to current version 6.6.0.18

The firmware on your 1633s is about four revisions behind also newest is BSOS, and can be found here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces

The 812s is also out of date current version is USOS also and can be found here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces

As 9mmruger1 stated earlier, set your target size to 4300, to avoid burning too close to the edge of the disc.

I've read some threads about bad batches of Ritek discs, I'll try and track it down.

There are alot of ppl in this forum that preach not to burn at more than 4X or half the rated speed of you blanks. I have discontinued subscribing to this school of thought (for now), but maybe reducing the burn speed will benefit you.

Thats all I see right now, hope these few and relatively easy fixes get you burning again.
