Hi, I just got an XBox not too long ago, and I recently found out that I can store my audio songs onto the hard drive. I stuck several of my burned audio format cds into my XBox and none of them worked. These burned discs work fine in my walkman and my car cd player. I stuck a store bought audio cd in and it worked fine. Why won't my XBox read my burned music cds? It just detects them as being an incorrect disc. I burn my Cds with these settings: Nero StartSmart 6 (Came with my burner) Disc-At-Once with Finalize On 15 Audio Tracks 8x Speed Am I doing something wrong. Some people from other forums say they are able to use their burned music cds but they have all been unsuccessful at giving me the proper info. I have tried using iTunes and still nothing. Thanks, McPot
Out of the box the samsung is the only dvd drive that will read cd-r's. You can tweak the philips to read them, but at the cost of wrecking the drive...it's not worth it. There is a solution though. Goto xbox-scene.com and look in their 'TOOLS' section, there will be an app called something like xbox soundtrack editor. This will let you conect to your xbox through ftp and transfer your music to your MS dash to be used in the game soundtracks. You will have to convert your music to WMA format, but I think windows media player will do that for you....not sure though. If not, there are tons of free apps like DBPowerAmp that will do this for you as well.
