I am a newbie and need some help if possible I have tried shrink and decrypter with to many problems on my xp system it ate up my cheap graphios pretty bad and had success with dvd 1click with dvd43 and on a trial for clonedvd2 with anydvd now to my questions.

1.Is there a cost effective alternative to those reliable user friendly ones like clone and 1 click ones that even my kids can use?

2.Can dvd43 break the sony and other strong encryption or do I have to buy anydvd?

I really am not trying to be cheap but am on a budget and it is the holidays and don't expect things to be free. I thank you for all the help and wish you and yours a great holiday.

shrink is the easiest and best as it is free.

What are your issues with it and if we can help you solve them will you stay with it or did you still want an alternative

I insatlled and reinstalled shrink and it blacks out parts of my monitor for a few minutes I did check for conflicts but it is probally due to my cheap intergrated graphics but any help or suggestions would be great thanks or anything good but not pricey

Look and see if you can find a copy of DVDDecrypter, one of the better free programs out there. I would suggest buying AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 from Slysoft, very easy to use and very user friendly. SOmewhere on Afterdawn you can find a discount for the package from www.slysoft.com

not worth it now as it isnt getting updated and macrovision has just secured the patent rights to it, so i would suggest something else, but will wait on your response

you need to sort out the drivers for your graphics. also maybe your cooling is insufficient...DVD Shrink is very CPU intensive

You will want a minimum of 512mb of ram for your system as well. Less than that and you will have problems. Oh it can be done, but not with ease.
