Does anyone know where I can find one? I want to see if these things compare to the DW1640's. Gotta find me a review but I'm not having any luck.

Yeah I tried googling it but all I get from it is either places to buy it or articles about the expected release dates(obviously they are outdated).

I know that this thread is about a DQ60, but for a short time tou can get a refurbished DW1640 from NewEgg for $37.99 + $1 shipping ...
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827101649R

If you want a review on the DQ60 .. I'll have access to one after Xmas and I'll let you know ..

I've Emailed BenQ and have been informed that the DQ60 is a DW1640 that has the ability to read and write to DVD-RAM ... If you don't want a DQ60 or a refurbished DW1640, wait another month or two for the forthcomming DW1650

I'm sure that the DW1650 will be faster at burning DVD-R DL and possibly faster with +R DL also .. I'm not sure though

Here is a review of the Plextor PX750A which, like the BenQDQ60 is a rebadged Teac ...

9mmruger Have you gotten your DQ60 YET ? I purchased one from newegg last week. Got it the other day. It will not burn DL , does everything else ok just not DL. Everyone at cd freaks say that they are not very good because of the chip set used. Just wondering if there was something wrong with mine or .... ?

I received mine the other day and sent it back the next day .. VERY disappointed .. Before I sent it back, I did some test burns and they were not very good ... also, I opened it up and inside it was a TEAC ... Not even close to meeting my standards ... Bye bye BenQ ...

Your lucky ..... the DQ60 I have will not even do DL burns on premium media. What a piece of junk. I guess I should have known something was up when it was only $35. live and learn benq will not burn.

Well, this is a frustrating turn of events. I am going to try and cancel my order this morning as soon as they open. What do you think about the NEC 3550A?

I just asked that same qustion on CD FREAKS. I am really paranoid at this point , that the 3550 may have the same chipset as the DQ60.

I do not want to end up with a stack of junk DL dvd burners. I started on this journey with buying an i/o magic at micro center, only to find that it was a BTC, It's still under warranty , may try to send that back also. I think these companys are selling these thinking 1. the average person will not use DL ... or 2. they will wait for the cost of the media to come down, by then the burner is out of warranty.
