Once the copy protection is removed any burning program - like Nero, Intervideo etc. can be used. Just pick your program of choice - insert the copy and pick the copy option and burn to a new disc.
thanks binkie i will give it a try i tried it with (rixio easy cd copier ) but when i used dvd identifier it came up as dvd+ is that ok?
Make sure you are using the dvd copy option. Not really sure about your next question but + format is fine for copying.
one of the other members gave me a link to a software called dvd identifier that telkl if the dvd is a dvd+ or a dvd-rom after you booktype it
I use Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim which I buy from supermediastore.com (us). It sounds like you were trying to booktype the disc but it didn't take. No matter even if the burned dvd is still showing as +r you can still copy it. Booktyping is mainly used to make a +r disc appear to be a dvd-rom which increases the playback compatability on dvd players.
ok when i buy the dvd's do the have to be made in japan, from what i understand the ones from taiwan are no good. have you had this problem? if so when i order how do i know where they were made? sorry for the question's just trying to get it right thanks
Hey not a problem - that's what aD is here for! If buying in store look for made in Japan with the exception of Verbatim. In store I would use Fuji, Verbatim, Sony or Maxell (in that order - my preference). If your buying online from a reputable store like supermedistore.com your fine buying genuine Taiyo Yudens and Verbatims. Stick with those 2 from reputable sites and you'll be fine.
No matter what type of disc was used, -R or +R, for generation #1 copy, you' re able to make a second one from this. All DVD-ROMs are capable to read and reproduce both formats in a PC or a stand alone player. Examine first if your writter supports both formats for writting, especialy in case that you gonna need a double layer disc. Not all writters supporting dual layer burning. About media I personaly use Verbatim and Philips only!
ok thanks binkie i tried verbatims and it froze maybe now that it is booktyped the right way iy will work. i think i will order online i tried fuji dvd+ and fantastic 4 and the longest yard froze. i am going to try again with the burner set at dvd-rom. thanks again for all the help
@timberlou Your welcome! Two more little peices of advise: make sure your firmware is up to date and do not burn at max speed - keep your burn speed to 4x. This will help reduce any palyback issues. Keep us posted!
Hey Binkie7, now that I know the Newbie forum is in good hands I can go and put my feet up, maybe even watch a movie, Cheers
gwendolin, binkie helped a lot and now i understand. my big mistake is my media and booktype. i just ordered the good stuff so i can see if the freezing stops. thanks for all the help from everybody!
@timberlou Glad I could help! Post back your results -good, bad or otherwise. I might try blowing sone canned air in the players too.
binkie 2old told me that the labels were causing the freezing, i took some of the disk's that i had the problem with and took the labels off and they all worked. i ordered so good printable media and a printer, so from what you told me and what he told me it should work i will let you know how it goes. thanks again for the help
@timberlou Your welcome! Forgot about the label bit. For the past year I've been using the printable discs and printer - they look good. Happy burning!
