What Rotary is saying is that CMC branded media is considered poor quality media and will often produce less than quality burns. I would suggest purchasing Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim (DVD+R), Maxell, Sony made in Japan media and it is really good stuff.

I also noticed that your burner is one firmware behind. You can get the update at this link. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces

Just download it to your desktop and then double click on it and it will self install.

    Cheers.

Good, keeping updated firmware will make your burner handle the new types of media with ease.

    Cheers.

I think you can figure out where i stand on this from my sig line. Words cannot describe how bad these discs are, and they hide under "good" brand names. Even Verbatim has used CMC as a source. The discs will sometimes burn well, and maybe even play back ok for a while. The dye used by this manufacturer is the cheapest they can find, and it sucks,, big time. The dye rots away over time, and that once "good" disc is now a genuine CMC coaster. Try backing up anything you value to good media: Tayio Yuden, and save the CMCs for the cheap media fans.
