You can transfer things from one xbox to another by ftp'ing into them using your computer.

If your asking about a crossover you must not have the Boxs on a network or set to dhcp. You'll need to make sure the Boxs aren't using the same IP as well. And yes a crossover will work no problem. and then you use the client software as you mentioned.

i am having trouble using ftp between the xboxes. They don't seem to be connecting. When I go into the ftp part of avalaunch it only shows the local xbox and won't show the other. I made sure both xboxes have a different ip address. What do I need to do to ftp between xboxes?

The only way I would now how to check connectivity would be using PING not sure if these things have that command built or not. if you had them on a switch with a pc you could ping each from the pc to check. remeber that the subnet is important. set it to 255.255.255.0 and ip without a subnet is like a street address with no zip code you'll never get the letter. hope this helps.

Xbox Media Center works when transferring files with two modded Xboxes. Connect with a crossover cable, set the Xbox IP's and in XBMC network settings enable Auto-Detection for both boxes. Run XBMC on both boxes and it will auto-detect an ftp connection. The connection appears in my files and is located in XBMC-Nickname. The drives are listed as being only o.1KB; all the files from the other Xbox show up and can be transfered. You can set the ping in the network settings.
