They are selling HD recorders in Japan right now, but they are at least a $1500. Of course, you could record on HD DVRs that record to a hard drive like Sony's DHG-HDD500, but if you want removable media, then you might have to settle for a HD recorder that records in HD but to D-VHS tapes.
