would any problems occur if i swapped out my dvd drive in my modded xbox?

    my modded box has the thomson drive (which is awful in my opinion) and i have bought a 616T Samsung drive that is plug+play for an xbox, just wondering if there would be any problems with my changing them out? reason i ask is i dont know whether or not the chip (Xecuter2) functions with the dvd drive or not.

    Hey not for sure on your question. But I can tell you this much they guy that did my whole mod. I have been talking to him about my dvd drive problems and such. He referred me to a site with a thompson drive so I don't think you will have any problems with just switching out drives.
    I am also a newbie at this though so just wait to see what people with more expericence will say. but was wondering what site you got yours from? and how much? I am having problems with my current Samsung drive.

    No, there is no problem swapping one xbox DVD drive with another. So long as they are made or modded for the Xbox, the xbox will not care. There is no "locking" or coding of DVD drives that the xbox checks for.
