    I have been burning DVDs perfectly and suddenly during burning,a box comes up that says burn process error at 8x and ejects the blank disk and gives me a ton of information. I have a Gateway computer and a LiteOn dvd burner. If someone could please please PLEASE help that would be great!
    Here is what the box tells me:

    Ow man why do people use the error log which tells me nothing. First thing I noticed was you said you burn at 8x. Just a tad high on the warp speed I personally never burn over 2x and sometimes burn at 1x but then again its more important to me to get the best picture with 0 errors. Call me fussy. Did you switch burn media recently? Did you try another drive? I give up.

    well okay, I am downloading the newest nero right now, but which firmwire do I download, there are about 10 different ones and I have no clue which one to dl. Also, if it is telling me something that it can not do or something is wrong with the burner, why did it work the other 30 times I did burn dvds then? and why all of a sudden is this happening?

    @megabyte2

    Look at what Car.Mike typed, that is why people use logs.

    @DVDLUV

    This'll be easier:

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2056

    Download f/w KSOB.

    Time goes on and your things are out of date. It happens, they don't make these updates for no reason. Download them.

    You bad media is a real problem. and slow down speed to 4x good media or bad.

    I donno about burning at high speed as I have many computers I just set the burn speed to the lowest setting and let it go takes maybe 30 minutes for the average DL movie. I rarely get any errors and oh yes I use memorex brand. I mean if your using an oldier computer you may see serious slow downs especially with the encoding process but im in no hurry so for me it works. Hell I just got anydvd so no more weird solutions to back up madigascar.

    Yes, get better media, CMC is one of the worst things you can buy.

    ONe more really important thing:

    Is your burner external? If not then you got a problem. Atapi isn't loaded correctly.

    DVDLUV,
    CMC is the real manuf of your Blank Media and they really manuf very low quality blank DVD's. We are telling you to try better blank media. If you are in the US then see if you can find Verbatim at Office Depot ( 16X on sale 50 for $12.99)or find some Maxells

    Just wanted to throw in my humble opinion on media. I have used Fuji blank DVD-Rs for the last year and rarely, if ever, have a burning problem. Plus, they're really cheap. I get them at Best Buy when they're on sale (which they are every month) and just recently paid only $30 for a 100 count spindle.

    I used Memorex in the past and had nothing but trouble burning them and the ones that did burn wouldn't play in my DVD player.

    Hope this helps.

    Anyone know why DVD Shrink won't recognize a DVD burner sometimes? On another PC of mine I loaded NERO 6 and then DVD Shrink, but when I select "Backup" on DVD Shrink, it doesn't find my DVD-RW and only gives me the options of creating an ISO FIle or Hard Disk Folder.

    Skippy is usually 3 things, dirty/scratched disc, burn too fast, or crappy media. And Imation is crappy media. No you can't re'dl

    @jcbaty

    Fuji is fine if it's Made in Japan, only if it's made in Japan.

    gwendolin, but you dont understand thats my exact point I DONT HAVE TROUBLE WITH MEMOREX because I burn at 2x or less. The most halarious thing is most of these items drives media etc are made by one or two companies and sold to other companies to put their name on them. When I used to work in computers I used to know every supplier and wholesaler out there and could tell you the source of every component these days it all comes from china or at least thats what im told. As for the Nero logs they dont tell me anything boy. Im a people trouble person and usually get more from person telling me whats wrong. But at least I try to help I dont see you helping anyone. Call me an idiot but anyone can complain how about helping? What do you think?

    @DVDLUV

    I'm in agreement with Car.Mike, GlueEater, and gwendolin.

    Get rid of the Memosux media and once your upgrades are done you should be good to go. Slow burn down to 4x with quality media such as Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Maxell (MIJ), Sony (MIJ), Fuji (MIJ).

    (MIJ) = Made In Japan

    Don't use paper labels.

    (edited to add paper label comment)
