so i have nero version 6.6.0.13, using nero vision express to encode some avi files to burn to a dvd. The problem is, the files themselves are only 2.96 gigabytes, but when i go to add the files to NVE, it shows them as being like 8+ gigs. The program tells me to manually reduce the quality, but i have NO idea how to do such tasks! please help. ;)

    i r newbie

The latest version of Nero is 6.6.0.18, firstly I would update your Nero prog. I use NVE3 almost all the time with my burns and have not struck that problem. Are the AVI files 2.96 before adding to nero because around 800mb converts to a couple of gigs. If your AVI files were already 2.96g then that is possible. You could try using the following 2 progs, both free. The first is DivxToDVD and the burning prog is CopyToDVD. I make a destination folder for the files to go to ,in the Standard box check either PAL or NTSC and tick box..burn with copy to DVD . Heres the link for Divx http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/v... now just click on CopyToDVD for that link.
