My teenage daughter has suddenly decided that she likes Led Zeppelin and keeps asking to borrow my Led Zep DVD. Now whilst I don't mind her watching it I have great fears as to the state they will come back (the state of her bedroom and CD collection scares the hell out of me). So I thought I would create a back up which she could watch and I can rest peacefully knowing that she will not scrap my originals.

I have followed the guides and downloaded the necessary software, however I get so far in with DVD decrypter and it hangs and just keeps identifying errors. I have followed the instructions by scuba pete? but still no joy. It seems to get stuck in an area called VTS_2.02 VOB (I wouldn't swear to that though) Could it be something to do with the fact that it is a 7.5mb, though I am only copying to disc at this stage. Any help would be really appreciated I can only hold her off for so long

    Thanks

It must have something, I have just tried again as suggested and I get to the smae place (about 38% in) and I start to get the read errors and umpteen tries, perhaps it is really well protected

Make sure that the disc is clean. Clean with windex or something to get all smudges and fingerprints off of it.

Try ripping it to the harddrive with DVDFab decrypter (Free) from this web site. It has an encryption breaker in it and is also good at ripping hard to rip discs. Then use DVDShrink and decrypter to burn.

    Use this guide for assistance:

    @pablo1407,

I don’t think this disk has any protection that DVDD can’t handle. It may just be dirty (clean real good) or scratched, damaged – Try DVDDecrypter set for problem disks:

In DVDDecrypter go to: Tools -> Settings ->
    Try these settings for

    General Tab
Options – Removal Method – Aggressive

    File Mode Tab
Options – Remove PUOs (IFO and VOB)

    ISO Read Mode Tab
Options – Remove PUOs (IFO and VOB)

    CSS Tab
    CSS Cracking Method
Brute Force -> I/O Key Exchange
    On Failure – Yes

    I/O Tab
    Options – Ignore read errors

I have found that this will rip a lot of problem disks… Give it a try.
