Hi all, i am using nero 7 premium and trying to copy a disc using both burning rom/nero express, the trouble is that when the burning is finished it then says burn failed at 2.4x, the problem is that i have tried to change the burn speed but to no avail because as soon as i insert a blank verbatim d/l disc into a drive nero sets the burn speed another issue is that i cannot simulate! Please help as i am at my wits end because it's cost me a small fortune sofar in d/l disc's, i have included a log file all help is appreciated, thanks. Hi there, Before going crazy using Dual Layer media, get yourself a few DVD+RW and get your burner burning. Once everything works with DVD+RW, then try a Dual Layer media. *Then* if it fails, you know you have issues with those Dual Layer Media. When someone has burning issues, I always suggest using Re-Writable media and burn at the lowest speed. Then only change 1 thing at a time. Use the same media, but burn faster. Then try the Dual Layer media etc... My 2 cents...
I have the same problem as this guy. I've been burning 16x media for weeks now, as well as 8x and now all of a sudden I'm getting the same failed at 2.4x error. The only difference w/ me being that my disc doesn't even write as soon as I click burn I get this error. I don't know what the hell's going on. I actually went to the store today to return a 100 pack of memorex dvd's for fujifilms and I still have the same problem, can anyone help me? Thanks.

Hi there, Your firmware is outdated, the latest is v3.06 for your drive. http://www.de.nec.de/software/2015_FW_ND-3520A_306win.zip This usually helps, when using new media (8x, 16x). Latest v6 Nero is v6.6.0.18, you are not so outdated, but I always suggest using the latest when having issues. Try to free up some memory, don't have to much stuff running in the background. If you don't stop them (Like I do) burn slow, x2.0 or x2.4 (Which you tried, so let's keep it slow <grin> ) Returning those memorex was a smart move, they are the worse media that exists. Upgrade the firmware 1st, then see if it works. You are a few versions behind !

@rkhera - - 7.0.1.4b is here - http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/nero7-up.php - firmware's up to date - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1965 - sufficient total memory but pretty much no free memory, real bad when you had 1GB to start with... you need to close down more programs prior to ALL dvd work/burning to free up more memory - i'm no dual layer expert but i'd say that Nero's not coping with the layer break here. - see other comments Maybe try imgburn from www.imgburn.com or dvd decrypter, both programs by Lightning UK are able to burn dual layer properly
