Hey, I just started copying movies using dual layer discs. I'm using DVD Decrypter to read then write. All my movies have worked so far (a bit of artifacting in some players, but that stopped when I slowed down the write speed) The strange thing is, all TV shows on DVD that I have tried fail about half way through the write process (changing layers maybe?) I have tried to copy Firefly, Sopranos, Lost, Battlestar...none work! Anyone have this problem or know of any solutions? BTW I am using a NEC ND-3550A burner with the latest firmware (as of 12/10/05)
Hello and welcome to afterdawn. First off you are backing up your movies not copying, the c-word implies that you are doing something that is against the law. I know my handle is PirateDan that just to irritate. The problem is that DVD Decrypter is an old program and they don't update. I have Nero and use the digtal recode and that works great. Also I have AnyDVD and CloneDVD which are on sale now and Clone does a nice job of an even break for Dual Layer discs.
