First, make sure you have a nice looking pic (not too big on the size) ready on your computer, then do as the following.

1) go here http://img283.echo.cx/ and browse to your hard drive and look for your picture.

2) click on upload

3) click on the picture or img when it shows

4) right click on the img/picture and copy the url or link

5) now come to AfterDawn.com and go to your "my account"

6) edit your personal account

7) under "signature" put http://www.theurl.com/picture.jpg [/i m g ] (make sure the last /img is connected inside [ ], I did it like that because it's acting goofy when posting here only).

8) then click SAVE, that's it...

Here is an example: I custom made Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children

Go here :- http://www.irfanview.com/ and get the FREE Irfan Viewer -- and the plugin package, it is the best little tool that you may have in Your PC .

It reads Mp3, Dvd, images and does it well.Does batch work and corrections. You can load your signature image and save it right back as jpeg and you will see a cut in weight to almost half cause Irfan is optimized for the web. You will not have to resize it.

It is not the size so much that is creating problems on a server -- it is the weight of an image -- most Forums limit to 15K .. we are lucky AD does accept 50K -- you have to keep in mind that AD has over 300000 members and that it is quite conceivable that 4% may be online at once , that's 12000 people downloading images from various pages .. some pages have 3 .. 4... 5 large images ! This slows the server .. takes a lot of bandwidth and can be very costly. !

EDITED for a typo ! Grrrrrrrrr !

it will not allow you to put it up due to the size...... i'k seeing over 4kb worth in properties, even image shack won't allow it at that size..

Seems to me that you have done it already.
Just look in your settings and see how you signature is.

So copy it and just replace that http address and that is all.

[img_] link here [/img_] and do not write _ those.
