What is the difference? Which one should I use to back up my DVD?

dvd-5 holds about 4.7 gb of data and dvd-9 holds approximately 7.95 gigabytes of data though lol the marketers like to say its around 8 gig. personally i prefer to use dvd-5 becasue they are cheeper to buy and u can use programs like dvd shrink to fit dvd-9 movies on a dvd-5 disc.

dvd5 has less capacity than dvd9. the best i can remember dvd5 is 4.3 gb and dvd is 8.5 gb. most people use dvd5 because of the price. if u chose to use dvd5 u will need an app to compress like shrink. which is available here at ad. dvd9 will have better quality because of the extra capacity, however if u use dvd5 and do main movie only the quality is pretty good to.
