I have done a couple of films for friends and family and they all have different DVD players some play the films fine and others just refuse to play the first disc of a certain film which plays fine on mine and my parents DVD andy ideas ?

Not all DVD players are created equal. vcdhelp.com has an excellent compatibility list of various players. Worth a check.
