I've now checked different DVD+R's burned with both DVD Decrypter and Nero 6.6.0.3 Burning ROM...Using Nero's disc info tool:

Disc#1: Book type: DVD-ROM(ONLY by clicking recorder settings in DVD Decrypter, picking "LG" drive, and choosing DVD+R burn at book-type) I have to do this EVERY time I burn because...

Disc#2: Book type: DVD+R(Burning again with DVD Decrypter, not going to recorder settings, and just burning...Why oh why won't it stay set when I have another new DVD+R blank to burn???)

Disc#3: Book type: DVD+R(Burning with Nero 6, won't even show me a box for book-type in "options" of both Recode and Burning ROM pre-burn screens, like it doesn't even recognize my drive's ability to do that...)

I thought that the LG 4167b drive could book-type to DVD-ROM. The fact that it does "one-shot" book-type burns with the option in Decrypter really leads me to believe that I might need to update my firmware from present DL11 to DL12. Can anybody confirm that this could correct it and cause Nero to recognize for book-typing? Any possible conflicts anybody can think of? I have ANYDVD running in background of both Decrypter & Nero...Nero's INCD looks like it's installed, should I have Windows remove it? It just seems like the firmware to me...I'd love to just burn out book-typed in Nero right after using Alkohol's Recode 2 process(seems to make great back-ups...) LG 4167b owners, help!!! Thanks, everybody...

i have this burner. i've set mine to 'auto' in Nero's Burning Rom via 'recorder/choose recorder/options'. then set booktype to auto in the booktype box and it will work correctly permanently
