Well heres my problem. My roommate wanted to see a film, so i downloaded the basic divx Codec 5.0.3 bundle on my pc.(win2000 sp3) It didnt play in Divxplayer 2.0 and only sound in wmp 7.1. But while i was away, he downloaded divx 3.11 alpha and installed it. Now WMP crashes everytime on DIV3 files. And i did the stupid thing of uninstall wmp 7.1, to go back to version 6.4.09.1124 Well thats about it. (yes i know the format was fourcc div3) any advice from here? thanks MPlayer2.exe 6.4.09.1121 caused exception C000001D at address 1C403191 (Base: 1000000)
I've never encounterd wmp crashing using all 4 versions of DivX. Try running scan disc and see if you have any hard disc errors. Also get all updates for wpm Shoey
scaned the hdd, but no problems. before 3.11 alpha wmp could play div3 with only sound. But now it just crashes on that format. so i dont know...
Go to bestdownload and type in divx player. You should find one to play divx. Use the latest DivX installed on your pc. http://www.bestdownload.com/ Shoey
