i have nero 6 and just got a i/o magic dvd burner at 16x (model # IDVD16DL). One quick question - my burning speed only registers at 8x is that because i am using 8x disks and when i get 16x disks it will burn at 16x? please help have looked all over for answer. thanks
It probably is capable of burning at 16X when using 16X media, but you're more than likely to get load of "coasters" instead of successfully burned. In addition, it will cause a playback issue down the road as well. So you need to think twice about burning at 16X -- yeah, it's cool and good to burn fast, but it won't last. Remember "quality last, not quanity and speeds." The choice is yours. Try it and see how it goes. However, I'm strongly against burning at 16X period. Apparently, I'm a 4X - 8X (at the max) person because I hate to waste any of my precious backups down the road.
