I have Ulead 4.0 software on my computer and am using a Memorex 16x DVD writer - Everything goes fine during the burn until it reaches the "Writing to Disc" portion of the burn - once it reaches 66% I receive an error from the Ulead software and it crashes - I've writen their technical support and followed all of their instructions (uninstall, reinstall, burn problem patch, etc.) and am still having the same problem. Can anyone help?

    Thanks much.

make sure ur firmware is up to date. get good media like verbatim,ty yuden, sony,or maxell. it would help if u gave more info. like the actual error message, and what ur trying to burn(data, video, music, games etc.)

Here is everything I know - Hopefully it will help.

Using Ulead 4.0 and trying to burn a slideshow to DVD. The slideshow contains around 50 pictures and music. By "firmware" I'm thinking you mean the software that my DVD Writer uses? If so, it uses Nero6 which I downloaded to my computer as well. When the burn process reaches the 'Writing to Disk" portion, it makes it to 66% then I receive and error message from the Ulead software that says the software has encountered a problem, they are sorry for the inconveinence and that anything interupted by this error will be lost. Once I click okay, the software closes.
I have tried using Memorex DVD+r as well as Memorex Double Layer DVD+r and get the same error message.
    Does this information help?

Alas, your choice of media is one that is NOT recommended by members here at A/D. There has been several threads written as to the problems arising from their use and it is possible that your problem stems from this media.
It is recommended that you always use good quality media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

look at the media guide and you can see that Taiyo Yuden, Maxel, Verbatim, Sony ...... all first class media. Stick with those and you can eliminate this underestimated problem before you go into other problems, if you get them!
