    I have already burned 3 DVDs with the same template and similar content to this one, yet this one will not get past the start of transcoding.
    The error in the log file is
    [16:20:02] DVDEngine ERROR
    [16:20:02] DVDEngine cause: 128 (nmc_processing_exception)
    [16:20:02] DVDEngine source: CNeVideoEncoder::GetNextAccessUnit
    [16:20:02] DVDEngine description: Gop length = 0

    If you need to see the entire log file I can email it to you or upload it somewhere.
    I have tryed reinstalling Nero but to no avail. I assume it must be something wrong with the video file/s.

    I need these DVDs done for a Christmas Present. Thanks for your help!

    Try my guide here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946 - it's really simple. On the other hand, is your firmware up to date? Did you set your location to burn into your burner or hard drive? Did you choose "Add video files" or "capture video files"? It would be nice if you can provide the whole log. Remember to "TAKE OUT/EDIT" your Nero serial before you're going to post back here alright.

    I'm pretty sure it's not my firmware because I burned 2 DVDs yesterday.
    I used exactly the same method as in your guide except I burned straight to my burner rather than to my hard drive first. That shouldn't matter anyway as the error is in the transcoding.

    And I don't know what you mean by "TAKE OUT/EDIT" my nero serial. I don't see my serial anywhere how can I remove it o_O.

    There could be a possibility that the files you're trying to transcode is corrupted. By the way, what are your computer specs (ie processor, ram, space available, etc.)?

    I recommend transcoding and writing into the hard drive first, then have Nero Express or Nero Burning Rom burn them files once it's completed. Because you'll never if it's too big to fit onto a single DVD-R or DVD+R disc, by transcoding and writing into the hard drive first, you can always have Nero Recode 2 to encode/compress it to fit perfectly onto a DVD+R or DVD-R disc (if only it's over 4.5GB).

    To get the very last section of your Nero Log, go here: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory (for Nero 6) and C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory (for Nero 7) -- now remember to TAKE OUT/EDIT OUT your Nero serial before posting it back here.

    Here is an example successful burned log of mine, yours should look identitcal like this on the very last bottom part.

    @DarkRyno

    Both of your Nero logs looks pretty clean, they're both successful burned, except 2 things below. Now back to your "DVDEngine ERROR", like I said, there may be a possibility that the files is corrupted. What files/kind of movie are you trying to convert/transcode?

    Nero is a few versions behind, maybe you may need to update to the latest Nero 6.6.0.18.

    Your burner's firmware is a bit out-of-dated. It's latest firmware is 1032. Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1823 to download the latest firmware version and run it to update it. It will help to increase the burning performances and media compatibility.

    I'm burning just .wmv videos.
    My last DVD was about half .wmv and half .avi and that worked.
    The videos play fine and everything, they just won't transcode.
    Thanks for that update stuff as well.
