i don't know what firmware i have. i looked on decrypter and the firmware it says is 9H10. But i don't know which burner i should choose when changing the booktype. i don't know the difference between lite-on or LG etc. do i need to download an updated firmware? can someone help me out?
well, what kind of burner do you have??? model/brand name? that would be helpful for anyone to help u further... docTY~
well, i can't seem to find that particular model number burner...but, then again, i'm not familiar with Philips products... either way, unless your Philips burner is a rebadged something or another, don't think dvd decrypter will be the way to booktype your dvd+r to dvd-rom... i'll look further to see if i can find that burner of yours...can't seem to find it right now...LOL...i'm lacking the search skillz at this point... docTY~
dz50,,,, Just Google firmware 9H10. The fourth paragraph will get you started and pointed to obtaining the up to date firmware. Rebadge simply means using another DVD supplier's device in place of a DVD with their company name on the case. You might try www.comcast.net~bbmayo/index.html for a guide to booktype. Also to booktype you must be using +R discs. CIAO
If you have the ability to booktype it is definately the way to proceed. It will make them play 99.99% of the time in standalone players.
Thanks for all the help guys! i think i got it. when i put my backup in the computer the ADIP says DVD+R but the 'last recorded' says that it is DVD-ROM. So i think it was booktyped to DVD-ROM. what exctly does ADIP stand for, anyway?
