file too big for disc

    im a newbie at burning and need some help, im trying to put harry potter on divx using one of the guides on here, i have got all the way up to when nero burns it, but the files are too big for my disc, can i do anything about it or do i just buy some better discs.

    If the Xvid is larger then a CD-R(700mb) then you either need to burn it to a DVD

    or

    split the Xvid into sections. Make sure each section can fit onto a 700MG disc.

    Example: If the Xvid is 1.3GB split it in 2 and burn each half on its own CD-R.

    If the Xvid is 1.8GB then you will have to split it 3 times and burn each part on its own CD-R

    Or as above burn to a DVD-R.

    Also keep in mind if you want to watch this on a standalone DVD player it needs to beable to play Xvid format.
