I am attempting to update my DVD burner's firmware and don't know which version to upgrade to. This is my burner's info: Manufacturer : I/O Magic ID string : DVDRW IDE1008 Current firmware version : 0057 The manufacturer has two versions for my drive: version 0159 version 0060 How do I know which one to use? Any help for this Newbie would be greatly appreciated.
Normally the highest number, or biggest letters are the latest revision, but http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1727 there it looks like 060 is the most current. That is a strange one. I would choose 060 as it also seems to be in sequence with your old firmware numbers.
The 060 version is the one you need cause it is the latest -- dated 25-04-05 Firmware V0059 was updated to 0159 to correct a minor problem dated 18-10-04 Good Luck Edited for Typo .
Thanks for your help. I just flashed my DVD drive with the 060. Hopefully that will resolve my burning issues.
