After startup, the cd/dvd drive will not respond. I am sure it has power becaus the lights are on during startup.

if there is what dpp told u, double click on the category and click on uninstall, restart your computer, log onto windows if it prompts and says found new hardware insert the installation disc otherwise just click on next, if it the hardware cannot start, you will neeeed to find the appropiate program or cd you will need. You can get an application cd from your manufacturer thats what i am doing to install all my drivers and devices. If you dont see 'found new hardware; try and do it manually, control panel, add hardware or system then hardware then device manager, right click the error code with an exclamation mark then click on update. OR you should find out the name of you dvddrive and do it manually like that.

    Many Thanks
    Karim
