i know of the program dvd2cdr which creates dvd backups in cdr format that are readable in a dvd player. now my question is since this is possible, it should also be possible to burn .avi's in dvd format onto a cdr so i can watch a movie on my tv via a dvd player. can someone outline how i would go about doing this? thanks regards, daniel
AVI (DivX) won't play in home dvd player. The best format is SVCD using DVD2SVCD& CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder) to cd-r's. VCD video sucks big time. Shoey
yeah, i know avi's can't play in a dvd player, but is it possible to convert .avi back into dvd format? dvd2cdr will allow playage of dvd data on a cdr.
It is possible to convert avi to VCD\SVCD. Many programs out there that will allow a dvd movie to be copied to cdr(w) after a dvd rip& encode. What advantages do we have using dvd2cdr? Shoey
advantages of dvd2cdr are no loss of data. make identical backups of dvd's using cdr's. meaning u can pop the cdr into u'r dvd player and it will play. the programs u are talking about, is there any loss of data going from avi to svcd to cdr?
I checked into that program early this morning and found out it's "3rd party software" that is nothing but junk. The program uses its own encoder and I already know the program is NO comparison to CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder, TMPEng, or Canopus ProCoder. Such programs like the DVD2CDR are: DVD-TO-DivX, DVD-TO-MPEG. You should consider making a SVCD sample using CCE encoder with DVD2SVCD 1.1.2. <Guarenteed BETTER video quality I assure you m8. yeah, i didn't look around to see what the program was actually doing. i just read the short description and downloaded. thanks for the info. i'll look into encoding svcd.
