Help Anyone!! I have downloaded the free trial of this and have copied a couple of my dvd for my nephews and I put them in my dvd player and it says it doesn't recognize or no disc? I have used dvd x copy platinum and have had no problems with them playing in any player. I'm not sure why I am having this problem with this program.I would like to use this since it seems to be much easier. Thanks
Do they play on your pc? It could also be the media your using - dvd players can be very picky with the different types of media. Which are you using? I use clone quite a bit and have no problems. I have anydvd running in the background since clone can't copy movies that are copy protected.
Hello, No it doesn't play on my pc either. I also have any dvd running in the background. It does say that the burn process was succesful so I'm not sure what the problem is?
What brand of discs are you using? Are these different from the ones you used w/ xcopy? What's your burn speed and your burners make and model? Lots of questions just trying to narrow down the problem.
They are Prodisc 8x DVD-r, Yes I have used them with all my other dvd's that I have backed up but using my other program DVDXCopy Plat. My burner is a Toshiba SD-R5272. Please ask any questions I really want this program to work.
Prodisc is okay - it does have it's share of problems though. I would switch to better media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. But it sounds like nothing was copied to the disc. Does your pc recognize it as a blank disc? In clonedvd on the last step is 'dvd writer' pushed in and not iso/udf image or dvd files?
It doesn't recognize anything. I tried it in another burner and it says that there is already information on it so something is burned to it. Yes I click on Dvd Writer then hightlight my burner then click go. Also I noticed looking around at the program there is a button before the Dvd Writer that contains DVD-5, DVD+DL, DVDRam, Custom what is that? Do I need to change anything in there? Thanks for all your help
No you don't need to change anything there - it should be defaulted to dvd 5. You would change it if doing using a dual layer disc w/ no compression. The program as you can tell is pretty simple to use - not much room for error. Make sure your firmare is up to date. The latest for your drive is 1031. You can tell what version you have in clone on the last screen - next to your drive you'll see () rev. 123 or whatever -that's your firmare. Here's a link for the firmware: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces Also even though the discs can burn at 8x don't burn at 8x - reduce it down to 4x if your not already. I just checked another site about this drive - glancing thru the 1st few comments it sounds like your problem. Here's a link: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters...=&orderby=Name&hits=25&Search=Search&country= So depending on what burn speed your were using that may be the problem.
Thanks for the info. I am going to try a new dvd dual burner I just got so I will see if that will work. I will reply back and let you know.
Thanks for your help the new burner did work. In your last reply you gave em a link to my other burner was there a way to update my other burner?
If you go here you will be able to locate the latest firmware for your other burner drive: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php
@pawprints Glad the new burner worked out for ya! The link I listed above was for the latest firmware for your old burner. Firmware teaches your burner new media types and the burn speeds for them. It may have helped your problem but from reading some of the comments on this burner may not have. Even though you have a new burner still switch to the good stuff like Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim and do not burn at max speed- keeps the problems down. Happy burning!
