Newbie here! I have a DVD burner with Nero 6 for software. I have searched the site and have also downloaded DVD Decrypter. The instructions I found posted by alkohol were great up to the point that he says to use Nero REcode. Nero 6 didn't come with "recode".

Where do I go from here? Also, do I need ASPI with the Nero 6?

You don't need recode, DVD Shrink will do just fine for the compression, as a matter of fact both programs are/were written by the same guy. As for the burn, you can set up DVD Shrink to automatically burn with DVD Decrypter after the encoding is finished.

    Happy burning...

To get Nero Recode 2 for your current Nero 6, you'll need to download Nero 6 Ultra's package #2. I recommend you to get Nero's General Clean Tool and wipe out Nero from your system, then download the latest Nero 6.6.0.18 (package #1 & #2 only) to install back on your system. Now you should have Nero Recode 2 under Nero StartSmart.

Yes... like LOCOENG said, DVD Shrink will do just fine. However, I prefer Nero Recode 2 because it transcode/encode, analysis faster that's all (a little more advanced). However, the choice is yours, but seriously if you have Nero 6, then you should be able to get Nero Recode 2 without any issues.

I cannot take credit for that guide, I did not write it. Two questions for you.

    1. What speed did you burn your copy at? It is not recommended to burn at more than 4X.

    2. What brand blank media are you using to make your backups with. If you are using Memorex, Imation, or another offering from CMC Magnetics you will probably continue to have problems. Some quality media would include Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden and Sony, Fuji, Maxell(made in Japan).
