DivX 5 Codec Not Installing Properly?

I was following the guide to converting DVD to DivX but when I got to the VirtualDub part about opening up to select compression method, I can't find my DivX codec in there. I've tried installing DivX 5 first and then VirtualDub and vice-versa but to no avail. Does anyone know where I took a wrong step? Thx.
