First off try the movie in your friends players, your mom's, your PC etc, find out if it is isolated to your player. Will it play on your PC the one you burned it on? If the problem persists, what type of blank media are you using? Quality media is probably the number 1 issue or should I say lack of quality. Don't use memorex or phillips dvdr's try some sony 4x+r's made in Japan or 4X+r's tdk made in taiwan.

What is the source of your movie? Some movies that are downloaded are of a poor quality and unfortunately not a lot can be done to improve the quality so in most cases you have to live with it.
Advise given re media is good, also try Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and burn at around 4x. If you are comfortable in using Nero then stick to it as it's a very good prog.
