OOkay...im burning and i have all ready defraged and shut down all programs..i have a samsung ts-h552b CD/dvdw drive and i keep getting buffer underrun...The thing is that the used buffer is at 98% in nero which i use to burn it but the cd buffer goes as far as 50% and keeps moving between that an zero and takes near an hour to burn any dvd. With any other program it will stop after 4% and say buffer under run..nero has buffer under run tools to stop that but does anyone know what may be the issue? Im using samsung dvdr's and memorax cdr which both have an issue as far as the dvd buffer being limited during burning process. Plerase HELP!

edit out the nero serail number

and your burner is in NOT in DMA mode

enable DMA,if its not an external burner

    DMA mode

    my comp/control panel/system/hardware/device manager...click on ide/atapi controllers....right click on the ide channel../properties/advanced settings = DMA????

if in pio mode and DMA is greyed out,you may need to unistall the ide channel which controls the drive and re-boot the pc

(is that right) The two secondary ide's are set to dma but on the mode is set to PIO only and everytime i change it...the computer crashs...if i uninstall the driver and reinstall it...windows fails to load on the next boot and i have to install it back from safe mode back to pio mode. Please help. =(

    - also, you're burning too close to outer edge of discs. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space
