I am attempting to burn a dvd that I purchased from Blockbuster. When I go to copy it in the Nero program it tells me that the DVD is copy protected. What upgrades or other programs do I need to get this to where I can burn it onto a blank DVD?

use dvd shrink....have dvd43 in the background which breaks the dvd protection..dvd shrink uses nero so thats what you need...dvd shrink and dvd43....

Firstly to elizerroj and budberner, your comments are uncalled for and are not helpful in the least, if you cannot contribute then dont reply to the thread.

AJazzyJ, the title you have given to the thread rings alarm bells, I suggest you alter it as at AD we do not condone piracy. On the other hand if the copy you have is a PURCHASED copy of an X RENTAL then I would suggest the following.
Use DVD Decrypter to remove any encryption and then DVD Shrink, you may also like to have AnyDVD running also.
Heres a site where you can obtain both progs and a very good guide on how to use them http://www.dvdplusvideo.com..Good luck

GWENDOLIN, oh for sure I bought it from blockbuster, I didn't return it for like three weeks and then the next time I went in there they told me it would only be like $3 to buy it and $2.50 to restock it so I just bought it. ut since it was a rental it had a lot of scratches, so I wanted to burn it to a dvd without scratches. But yeah I understand how the title of the thread seems ballsee, sorry.

the dvd must be encoded first you just cant copy it like a cd so use dvd shrink ,dvd decrypter or clone dvd 2 with anydvd ,heres a guide to follow

remember to use good media (Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and burn at 4x
