Drive Covertion

    Hey im new to the forums so first id like to say hi to everyone...

    Alright, I was wondering if I convert my drive from FAT32 to NTFs if the transcoding process, and decrypting and everything would go faster... Any responses are greatly appreciated..becasue transcoding takes around 3 hours for me =(

    Welcome to Ad..I and most the folk around here, would like would enjoy solving your problem..

    Certainly NTFS is a better file system than FAT32 {if yer copying} but, you need to give a little more info; than that..

    like what OS, and what yoor Pc spec's are..And what progs' yer using?

    hey, Im using windows XP, 392 RAM,the computer isnt slow, prety fast actually, and I usually use DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and CopytoDvD. And just yesterday it only took about 20 minutes or so..

    Well the 'specs' seem OK. So change your file mode.....if that don't improve things.

    Best look-see if you're using PIO..or DMA mode...

    I just changed it to NTFS and i am using DMA mode and its still taking forever..when I use dvd shrink the estimated time remaining says 80 hours...

    Well;; you've got me there I never knew Shrink could count that far
    pherhaps if your troll the boards; you'll find a solution?

    sorry for double post, but its gon down to about 6-7 hours estimate..but this is still far too long...
