My friend having issue burning a dvd and I cant figure out what it could be and you guys might know...

For a start we figured it was the discs, they had a scratch or something, but it has happened everytime for the past 6 or more times, she tried to rip and burn a movie, she use shrink and have no problem, opening, backing up...but when it comes time to pop in the blank and burn it, she just get told.. no cant do every single time. She hasnt changed the type of dvd's and they have worked all the other times...but they just won't burn now.

So any idea would be wonderful :)

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers :D

    billie77,
Sounds like the media your friend is using changed manuf. and that is where you are having problems. Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden or Maxell,or Fuji- Made in Japan or Sony -Made in Japan

It sounds like media problems from here... But...

Is the firmware updated? Or was any setting changed?

I would suggest putting the blank in the drive before starting the burning process.

Try to use another burning program like DVD Decrypter and check if it works like that.

Will the drive even recognize that you put in the disc? I would try just rebooting your PC and try agian. Some times that happens to me too.

Put in a laser lens cleaner too start their anyhow. ---zen-->
