    I tried backing up my personal copy of Anchorman using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 with my NEC DVD burner and Sony 8X DVD+R dvd's and about 80% through the burn Clone stopped and spit out the DVD reporting a Media Error. Any ideas why? Thanks

    Gee, maybe it had a Media Error??

    All kidding aside, try burning at a slower speed.

    @photokid
    I would also make sure your firmware is up to date.

    I just tried again at a slower speed 4x, this time error popped up after 5% complete. How do I go about updating the firmware? I have the demo version right now, wanted to give it a try and see how it worked first before I buy it.

    @photokid the firmware is a set of instructions telling your drive to adress different media ie.. -r,+r,rw in different manners easiest way I know is to open up imgburn/decrypter in file mode right click your burner and at the bottom you will see an option for update firmware select it you will have to be connected to the net

    dl any updates for your burner try and stick to your manuf.(oem) ie...sony,dell,hp some are picky!

    also grab a firmware flasher and read any read me files. but the flasher will make it childs play!

    @ divaroz please stick to one thread!

    I'm not using imgburn or decrypter (although I do have decrypter). The process or steps I've been taking are basically just launch DVDClone2 and follow all the prompts, adjust my burn speed and remove parts of the movie I don't want (ie, spanish subtitles, or french subtitles etc). Should I be using decrypter? I have AnyDVD running in the background, so I didn't think I would need to use decrypter.

    photokid, since you have DVDDecrypter just start it and go to: Tools -> Drive -> Check for firmware updates.

    @divaroz, you will have more chance having your question answered if you commence a thread of your own.

    @L8ter, you could be a little more tactful when dealing with others.
