Hi I want to make our computer DVD player Region 1 as have bought R1 DVDs thinking our normal player to be region free (it isn't...my bad...should have checked, I know) Can we still copy region 4 Dvds if it is set to play region 1? We can only change it 3 times. We have a Dell computer but that is all I know (Hubby does the copying) Thanks
As far as i know DVD Decrypter will rip any DVD from any region(correct me if I'm wrong).If you own the originals and want to make a legal backup then you cant go wrong with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.
There is software like AnyDVD that runs in the background that makes all DVDs appear as region free. You don't want to monkey around with the RPC settings on your burner since you're limited to 5 changes in t0tal before it locks up. As aljoe817 pointed out, the ripped output of those programs will be region free as the default.
Thanks...another sorta-related question...with free downloads like some I have seen for AnyDVD, what's the catch? How come you can either buy it or download it free? This sounds really dumb but I NEVER download anything from the net...thanks
