Hi all, Yeah I screwed up playing with softmodded xbox and configmagic files. I unlocked hd and couldnt get anything. used xboxhdm v1.9 rebuilt hd and now get error 16. I assume it is a clocking issue because of time spent off power. How can I get clock back with out mod chip. I assume mod chip is only option but figured some experienced folks might know more. I tried slayers and it wont boot. I appreciate your patience and advice. thanks dav
answer to both is yes. I think I will just have to do mod chip, to get past clock, as I am pretty sure that is the problem. not sure if there is something in the slayers disc that might help. I will keep trying dav
if u have roor code 16 its because ur msdash is bad or erased, u might still play original games disk but that will stop if u unplug the power cord for more than 5 hours. now if u cant play anything at all and u are using the original hard drive, u will have to do a hotswapp, and NO IT NOT THAT HARD, ull need xboxhdm 1.9 and the latest msdash, this is a tutorial http://xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html. to get the msdah u need go here http://freakyhosting.be/ms-c.rar. this is all u need. copy the whole contents of ms-c to the c folder in xboxhdm.
You do not need to do a hot swap yet. Some times xboxhdm does not lock the hard drive with out switching the cdrom on your computer to the slave drive and the xbox hard drive to master ( I think ). It sounds stupid but I have two computers for using xboxhdm, 1 for rebuilding hard drives and on for locking hard drives. 1 wont do what the other will do and vise versa.let me know if this helped
