I have just purchased a Panasonic DMR ES40V dvd recorder to dub old vhs tapes to dvd. The dvds play on other dvd players just fine. But what I really want and thought I could do is copy them into my new Dell and edit them. They will not even play on the computer. Media Center even crashes rather than reading them. I know there must be a way to get this done, but I am at a loss?

Use DVD Decrypter to copy them to your hard drive and then edit away!
