Hi. Have had a new IBM ThinkCentre for a couple of weeks, including the LG GSA-4163B DVDRAM. It was working fine, then I loaded Nero 5.5 and it was not able to recognise the physical device. Having uninstalled Nero I can no longer see the DVD drive in My Computer.

In device manager, the device is listed with a yellow warning symbol against it. When I try to update drivers I cannot find any on the hard drive. Have also tried uninstalling the drive in device manager, but to no avail as still cant find any drivers for it.

LG's site just provide version updates to the firmware/drivers and when these exe's run they install backs out because it cannot find the drive/original drivers.

Anyone know where to locate / download the original drivers for the 4163B or have other suggestions as to how I might get the computer to recognise the drive?

Go to Drivers guide dot com. If your running windows 98 look under Goldstar/ LG Electronics they,ve got the drivers and firmware down loads there. ChrisC
