Problem with Sharepod and ipod nano

I just got the ipod nano.
I hooked it up to the computer and windows xp pro detected it and assigned it the driver letter F.

I copied the file Sharepod.exe to F. In drive F, there are the following folders : Calendars, Contacts, iPod_Control, Notes.

I clicked on Sharepod.exe but then I get the following error :

> Warning: SharePod encountered an error while loading!
> Please see the FAQ on the SharePod website
> ( for help.
> Please note: Error number : 9
> Error description : Subscript out of range

I use Windows XP Pro. I didn't install iTunes. I'm hoping to be able to use Sharepod, without having to install iTunes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
