    I have a Toshiba DVD player, and says it will play mp3,wma, and jpeg files. Is there a way to convert avi to mp3, wma or jpeg to a DVD disc so I can play it in my Toshiba that is hooked up to my surround sound and will I be able to get the 5.1 sound out of it?

    Thanks,
    Phil

    Because AVI is a compressed format.

    Well first thanks for thanks;

    on the second part of your answer..'spose it all about this conversion stuff, and ratios,and dark stuff thet moves in the night.

    The forums are open, but don't change a question; halfway through, an answer.

    regards

    Sorry about that. Ok so i have my avi file converting as we speak. It says it has 2 hours left. So after it is converted I just pop in a DVD disc and burn it and it should play in my dvd player. right?

    thanks again,
    phil

    yes it's that easy.. mind you most folk who take this burning serious, would...isolate their computer............'til the burnings done.
