I have been avoiding games that require double layer dvds to burn to until recently. I recently downloaded college hoops 2k6 made for DVD9 and burned it to a memorex double layer disc. It loads fine on the xbox, however during gameplay it locks up and displays the "disc is damaged or dirty" message about every 2 minutes or less. Sometimes the game will resume after a few minutes and sometimes it requires a restart. Is it simply the media that causes such poor gameplay experience? Or is it the method of burning? Its about the 5th disc I have tried to burn yielding all the same results. Any advice or similar experiences?

That means that the xbox laser is having trouble getting to certain parts of the disc that you have in there. It is possible that the memorex disc can be a problem but i don't think so. I had the same problem with true crime streets of new york but i didn't need a dual layer but the game was choppy and required restarts every so often. But i know for a fact that my samsung drive in my xbox hates my dual layer disc.
