What is the highest (or is it lowest?) compression rate you can get before losing quality? I've got it down to 75% compression and I can't tell the difference.
Here is a good “Tongue in cheek” guide for setting Deep Analysis and AEC in Shrink to up the quality.. 90 - 99.9% = Max Sharp 80 – 90% = Default Sharp 65 – 80% = Smooth < 65% = Max Smooth Any thing less than 65% takes a long time but usually comes out decent.
Thanks 2oldgeek! :-D If I'm understanding you correctly, I should shoot for no more than 90% compression if using Max Sharp. Right?
Let's look at it this way... 0% compression is the way to go or the best. So the figure of 90% means actually 10% compression and 90% of its original form.
That's it! Shoot for No compression at all but if you can't get it to that point, then use the guide... Most of the time it comes out looking very good.
